Undergraduate research
The Slusky lab is very interested in undergraduate researchers. Undergraduate students interested in conducting independent research studies in the Slusky Lab are welcome to contact the PI at sluksky@ku.edu. Several ways to get involved in research in the Slusky Lab or elsewhere are:

Students that apply to the Slusky Lab should meet the following expectations:
- have taken or plan to take coursework in biochemistry
- commit at least 10-15 hours to the lab per week during the semester and 40 hours per week during the summer
- attempt to find research funding particularly for summer research
- attain independence and understanding of the research being carried out
- attend weekly lab meetings and recommended seminars
Graduate research
The Slusky Lab has positions available for talented, motivated, and enthusiastic graduate students. However, the Slusky Lab is only able to accept graduate students who have been admitted to graduate programs in Molecular Biosciences or Computational Biology. Postdoctoral positions
If you are interested in a postdoctoral position in the Slusky Lab, contact the PI with a concise email explaining why you believe you would be a good fit for the lab. It is also highly recommended that you arrange for your doctoral advisor to send a letter of recommendation by email or phone to the PI.
Opportunities for minorities at the Slusky Lab
The Slusky lab teams up with Haskell University and KU’s Initiative for Maximizing Student Development (IMSD). We are dedicated to making our lab an environment in which underrepresented minorities can thrive. KU’s programs for minorities including a funded program to provide mentored research experiences and training to recent graduates interested in preparing for graduate school in a science-related field (PREP).
